Cute little Peeps

Last week I posted a birthday card for my 17 year old nephew Cam.  I had entered it into a sketch challenge hosted by the Pals Paper Arts and I’m honored to say that my card was selected as one of the PPA Picks of the week.  You can see my card HERE.  This is very special recognition as there are so many beautiful cards and projects submitted in these challenges that I’m always so pleased to be recognized by the PPA Design Team.  Thank you!

On to today’s project.  Do you realize it is almost Easter.  Just 2 more weeks and we have one of the earliest possible days for Easter.  There is a somewhat complicated way to calculate when Easter is every year but the first thing to know is that it cannot be before the first day of Spring, March 20.  I figured it was time to make some Easter Cards.  I found this card on Pinterest on Tinkerin In Ink with Tanya. I just thought these little peeps were so cute from Honeycomb Happiness and how Tanya had lined them up on the front.

Here’s my take.

I used watercolor paper and my Aqua Painter to color in all the chicks from Honeycomb Happiness, a free stamp set you can earn with a $50 purchase now through March 31.  I colored in the chicks with Watermelon Wonder, Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi and Daffodil Delight.
I brushed the background lightly with Soft Sky and also added some Smokey Slate shadows.  The Bermuda Bay 1/8th inch stitched Ribbon makes a nice accent tied around the side.  Stampin Up Honeycomb Happiness AverysOwlery.com

Don’t forget the inside.  I restamped the chick and colored with Daffodil Delight.  The Happy Easter is from the Easter Lamb stamp.
I masked off the lamb before I inked up the bottom portion of the stamp so only the sentiment would be inked.
