My Favorite In Color – at least today, is…

unnamed

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s June Blog Hop!  Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Annual Catalog introduced us to five new In Colors:  Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.  What a beautiful collection of versatile colors!  Today’s Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that feature each artist’s favorite new In Color.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Pick my Stampin Up In Color Choice – Dapper Denim

I pulled out Dapper Denim because somehow I’ve gone 6 weeks without having used it yet.  Shocking, I know.  I also hadn’t had a chance to use my Flourish Thinlits and decided to combine the two for my card for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop today.  I pulled out my Dapper Denim Stamp pad then pulled out various other stamp pads to find a color combination I liked.

Select Complimentary Colors

I pulled out my Dapper Denim Stamp pad then pulled out various other stamp pads to find a color combination I liked.  I finished with Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron and Soft Suede.  In fact, I think Brian has recently done a card with similar colors, probably why these looked good to me today.

You might notice that I combined stamping and the thinlits.  I started thinking I would use the large flourish from the die set along with some stamping underneath but I just didn’t like how it was coming together and I didn’t want to pull out another stamp set.  So I started over.  Twice.  Finally I stamped the flower image using stamped off Dapper Denim once, then full strength.  I added the Mint Macaron leaves and then the sentiment.  I had already cut out two flowers from the die set so I added those on top of the stamped flower.  Lastly, I took that great big flourish I had die cut from Denim and clipped it apart into three pieces and tucked them in around the flowers.  Now that I liked.  I topped the flowers off with some embellished rhinestones that I had left over from the Holiday Catalog.  They were lost for a while, in a box…..then they were found.  Might as well use them. Stampin Up Flowering Flourishes AverysOwlery. com
