Another Eclectic Beauty

One of my new all time favorite stamp sets and thin lit bundles this year is Oh So Eclectic.  I like a card with a variety of elements but I’m not so great and coming up with them on my own.  I cased this card from another fellow InKing Royalty Demonstrator Robin Myren.  Robin had posted this in our Facebook group.  Here is a link to Robin’s Blog Songbird Designs by Robin.  She has not posted my inspiration for this card (yet) but I hope you click over to her website to see her other great projects.  She is quite the artist.

I used an Emerald Green standard card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, with a piece of whisper white cut to 5 1/4 x 4.  If you notice, the emerald green cardstock looks lighter under the decorative cut out.  I think in Robin’s card she had used a piece of Designer Series Paper from this same suite of products but I figured I could have the same effect just by adding some craft white ink with a sponge on my card base.  It gives a nice effect without having to cut another piece of paper.  My other alternate motive in this technique was that I’m going to use this in an upcoming Technique stamp class and I don’t have enough of that particular piece of DSP for everyone. Craft Ink – problem solved.

You may not have realized in looking at the thinlits in this bundle but one of them doesn’t actually cut anything. I didn’t realize it and wondered why nothing cut out the first time I ran it through the big shot.  This two stemmed leaf simply embosses the paper with the leaf pattern.  A unique way to add texture to your card.

Enjoy your 4th of July everyone.
